Double-sided component assembly is the process of assembling electronic components on both sides of a printed circuit board. This technique allows for higher component density and more efficient utilization of space.
During double-sided component assembly, electronic components are placed and soldered on both the top and bottom sides of the PCB. This requires the repetition of the entire parts-placement process on each side, making it a time-consuming task. The process involves printing solder paste, mounting components, and reflow soldering on one side of the PCB, followed by flipping the board and repeating the same process on the other side.
Double-sided component assembly is commonly used to optimize the functionality of electronic devices and achieve a higher level of integration. It allows for the placement of a larger number of components on a single PCB, enabling more complex circuit designs and reducing the overall size of the device.
