What is Circuit Card

A circuit card, also known as a printed circuit board (PCB), consists of a thin, flat piece of dielectric material with conductive paths or traces etched onto its surface. These conductive paths serve as pathways that connect different electronic components and link them to the sockets on the circuit board.

The circuit card assembly (CCA) process is involved in transforming a bare circuit board into a functional unit. This process includes designing the circuit card using CAD (computer-aided design) software, etching the desired patterns onto the dielectric substrate, placing and soldering electronic components onto the board, and conducting quality checks before final usage.

Circuit cards are widely used in various applications, ranging from home appliances like televisions and smartphones to industries such as navigation systems, medical imaging systems, monitors, and automobile displays. They play a crucial role in enabling the creation of electronic circuits by providing a platform for connecting and integrating electronic components.
