What is First Article

In the PCB industry, the first article refers to the initial production of PCBs from the first mass production line. This process involves randomly sampling PCBs from the first production run to assess whether they meet the required specifications and if the manufacturing process is accurate enough. The inspection of these initial PCBs is known as First Article Inspection (FAI).
